Lisa

When Casey and I began talking about this project, long before we started working on it, I immediately thought of my friend Lisa’s home. Lisa’s home was a safe place in my community for queer, trans, and teen parents. Although we didn’t even have interview questions, I felt a sense of urgency to interview Lisa. She was in poor health, and I wanted to have the opportunity to share her story with the community. This interview was recorded, with her consent to share it, in her home in Gardner, Kansas in January, 2020.

Lisa passed away in March 2020. We miss her very much.
